I did something today I haven't done in over a year .... I went to the
gym. I belong to Golds Gym, have for years in fact. Spent more money on
the membership then I care to admit. Haven't used it anywhere near as
much as I should have. The treadmill, while having increased my cardio
capacity is not helping drop the weight as fast as I'd like. Of course,
to be quite honest, my eating habits have tanked in the last week or 2
as well. Enough of that.

I dug out an old program that a previous trainer had done up for me -
and completed it. I'm a little sore, but not as sore as I expected to
be, so on the next "Legs" day I'm going to increase my weight. I did sweat
though, and I had to push myself to finish the final reps on some of
them. So I feel pretty good about it. I think I'll do it again

This is my 3rd straight week on the treadmill. Every day.

Best benefit/motivation for this week? A waist cincher corset that has always been just a little too snug .... fit around me yesterday with hardly any effort. w00t!!

This short term want vs. long term desire is a pain in the arse! the only thing that saved me this morning was ... )

So, am I the only one struggling with the short term wants (reading email, reading a book, not working out) vs. long term desires (being healthier, less weight)? How the hell are you all working around that?

*News flash* It's farking cold outside! Yeah, I know, I'm Captain Obvious today.

Also ... *grrr* didn't want to treadmill or workout this morning, but I did. Thank you Sgt. [ profile] ani_moore! 25 minutes, 1 mile and some on the treadmill, and 2 boot camp workouts today. Buns/Thighs and Abs.

With all due respect to the late Mr. James Brown -- that's the song in my head at the moment.

So, I just got off the treadmill and I don't have a clever cut name for it, like my lovely wife [ profile] ani_moore of the "gym shorts" or my lovely [ profile] mellyflori with the "B & H" (boring and healthy) ... so help me with a clever name, k?! Until then -- I give you stats from the treadmill )

My food choices were for crap yesterday - I'm 3 days into this and sabotaguing myself - but I'm back on track this morning. Smoking is still less than 6 a day, and working towards cutting it out all together. When I'm stressed and my loves and I are sniping, it easily leads to poor choices, I'm gonna have to work on that one.

So, what are you all up to? Anyone got some work out/weight loss/strong body icons they want to give a girl?
