It's getting better all the time
Now I have the Beatles song stuck in my head ... "It's getting better all the time ... better, better, better!". Updates are also on my community
fast_together. Drop by if so inclined.
Exercise DVD day 3 was a bit easier. My thighs were sore, sore, sore all day yesterday. You know the kind of sore that every time you go to sit down, you are aware of it. I count this as a very-good-thing. It made my walking a bit stiffer which hubby
lapsedagnostic and boyfriend
russell_moore got a chuckle out of last night - but they were laughing in sympathy as I know they fully support my renewed efforts. My other loves
ani_moore and
belthazar_b have been cheering me on. I can't tell you how much it means to have the people around you cheering you on. Do that today for a friend - cheer them on, it might just make their day.
Food is still on track which is usually where I find my biggest stumbling point. Yesterday's lunch was green-tea-curry scallops on a bed of lettuce and some balsamic vinegarette dressing. For a treat after lunch I had sugar-free lime jello. I can't for the life of me remember what I had for snack with the girls in the afternoon though. Last night for dinner I made a recipe called "Addictive Chicken" which everyone enjoyed quite a bit. The sauce was not low-cal, but I made some substitutions where I could, olive oil instead of vegetable oil, and Splenda instead of sugar. For *my* side dish I made brown rice and sauteed some tomato and green onion to go over it. I made white rice and corn for everyone else, but I know what they do to my blood sugar, so I looked for something that was close and wouldn't leaving me feeling like I was depriving myself. Dessert was another small bowl of lime jello. Also, I'm eating so that I'm done with dinner (and treat if I have one) before 7pm. Then it was off to shower the girls and get them prepared for another day.
Last night was spent curled up watching Mythbusters with my loves. Mythbusters was interesting, but what I noticed is that I started to get twitchy a little after 9pm. I wanted something to do ... to nosh on .... After doing an internal check I discovered I really wasn't hungry. *Ding*! I knew this before, but haven't really made myself pay much attention to it. Now I'm going to make sure on couch like evenings to make sure I've got something in my hands (knitting, beading) to concentrate on as well. I had a handful of nuts and a glass of water to satisfy the hind brain and then put them back.
This morning I woke up not-quite-as-sore and made sure to stretch. Breakfast was Eggbeaters with a thin slice of lox and some capers. *yum* Snack with a small portion of the brown rice with a skosh of fake butter, some Splenda and cinammon.
So, how are you all doing?
