Hot and muggy, filled with eggs, bacon, and coffee. Busy, productive, mildly stressful with some glimmers of hope on the horizon to shake off the ennui and ruts.
the kind where I wish I were back home, sitting on the deck, tossing peanuts at the squirrels, 'cuz it sucks here ... and it will suck tomorrow too ...
Optimistic because I had dinner yesterday with Linda, and she always gives me a feeling of "possibilities of positive future change."
Relieved, because I don't have to worry about Photoshop license juggling.
Accomplished, because I have solved a mysterious and nagging network problem that will make everyone's lives a little better here, and also we will finish up a project that the boss likes. So even better.
Manly-hunter-problem-solver, because I was able to help out one of our employees that is on maternity leave with a problem, and she's one of the people that actually appreciate me round here.
Gastromical, as I have have yummy leftover teriaki for lunch.
It's a "getting back into the groove post-Bella" kinda day with large helpings of "stressed out because the mother is coming for almost a week," "gotta pay daycare next week...what will I do!?" and "I need a nap."
It's a "high calorie" Tuesday - 2200 calories is my goal today - yum! Yes work is highly stressful today, and it's hot and miserable and humid. But I don't dwell on the bad, at least not so long as my AC keeps working :-)
Pretty darn good - yummy lunch, A/C to keep me cool, nothing super pressing for me to attend to and a promise to myself to buy tshirts after work today. Best of all - I'm leaving work on time, and no overtime.
A tuesday where I've cleaned out burned on crud in the broiler pans so the smoke alarm will stop going off every time I turn on the oven; a tuesday where I'm attempting to make brioche for the first time, because the Husband wants french toast in a day or two and likes it with rich bread; a tuesday where I've gone out and pulled up a big swath of weeds from the front yard because they were vexing me; and a tuesday where I'm doing more work on a lovely black & white silk dress for a client, and hopefully might have it finished tonight!
And lastly, it's a tuesday for drinking ice'tea. Seriously. :)
It's a lazy Tuesday off for us. Working retail, we rarely get the same days off. But, even better... B took me strawberry picking and let me nap all afternoon :) I'll keep him.
I discovered today when I went to work that the Director of Nursing was fired by corporate and not my our administrator, in fact he didn't even know it was happening and was done by corporate when they knew he'd be out of the building.
I found out that one of the unit managers is on suspension.
I found out that the only other unit manager that is not agency is quitting and tomorrow will be her last day but she had to leave early because her daughter was in the ER. I'm not even sure she'll be in tomorrow.
My boss is out with blood pressure problems.
This is the last week for our director of food service
We will likely go into state review ANY TIME NOW
I've been working there 2.5 months (of actual trained time, I've been doing long term care for all of 2.5 months and because I'm really good at making it look like I know what I'm doing people are treating me like I know what I'm doing but really what I'm doing is flailing around a lot and getting things done in the interim. What I'm trying not to do is panic.

Wrong B. I keep forgetting there's lots of Bs running about.
Correction: "My B", who is only my temporary B.
Although if you're at the meeting and like high heels and stockings...

Little bit Loney, because, well, you know.
Musical, because my lesson is tonight.
Pretty tired....
Been at work for 6 hours now (5 of them actually working).
Going to have lunch now.
The only joy has been listening to a tech give other Engineers hell for making a mess. Oh, it's a joy.
