In perusing my friends page on LJ, I ran across this particular post by
grail76. In it, this particular phrase resonated like a gong inside my head, and I thought it was worth sharing....
If you're always in control, you're not experiencing much. If you experience a lot, some of it will not work out the way you hoped. People will disappoint you. People will suddenly take offense and you're stuck dealing with them. Yes, it's much safer to hold back, but at the end of the year when you look back, would you rather 3 successes and 8 disappointments or hold back and have that constant longing that leaves you with a constant feeling of disappointment?
Let's hear it for a little controlled "losing control" ..
