Catching my breath
Jun. 13th, 2005 02:50 pmBeen a busy week or two. Health finally returned, no more listening to the world through a bag of wooly cotton balls. Summer is rushing to meet us full blast. The older girls are out of school at the end of this week - the two younger ones are done with summer science tomorrow. Guess I ought to get my summer plans in order, eh? Library day, pool day, movie day ... where is a good, inexpensive au pair when you need one?!
My best friend got here Friday night with her brood (3 of them, ages 9, 6, 3) - so our house and chaos level approaches "Cheaper by the Dozen" proportions. Q commented after getting breakfast on the table for kids "I feel like a short order cook" *heh* Just keeping the floor free of toe biting debris is a full time job. I wouldn't have it any other way - time with Tonia is so easy and wonderful ... it's the trite but true 'don't even have to finish my sentence' - and *damn* we've done a lot of laughing in the last 48 hours ;)
Spent the weekend with Q and R - Friday night was rum & cokes and episodes of "Firefly" - Saturday the 3 of went to the club and played. It was a nice release, but not quite along the lines of some of our more intense scenes... but it felt so *good* to play. Social time with the tribe was right what the doctor ordered too ...
This weekend looks to be packed full - helping with a move, a birthday bar-b-que, a bon voyage to a colleague - and of course, the ever present 'stuff around the house' *sigh*
