make_your_move: (what was i thinking?)
I had a great time at the TNG Mardi Gras party last night ... but it pales in comparison to being woken up this morning at 4am by my teenager, who had (and still has) a fever so high that she was having small febrile seizures. Poor baby, I sat at her side in the dark sponging her head with a cool washcloth, giving her a few homeopathics and waiting for dawn so I can take her over to the pediatrician.

She's as tall as me now, but I still wanted to pull her into my lap and let her sleep on my shoulder. I'm sure it's the flu, but *gah* I wish I could be sick for her. I hate it when she suffers.

She's been sleeping on and off most of the morning - even with tylenol, her fever is still running about 100 degrees. I took her to the pediatrician just to be sure there wasn't anything else going on (throat culture indicated *no* strep, yay!). On one hand I want to let the fever run and work itself out, but I can't stand to see her so uncomfortable, so I gave her the Motrin for comfort and I'll give her a popsicle when she wakes up for her throat. I bought her "Rent" to watch. I can't hold her in my lap, but I can find small ways to spoil her and try and make this flu less sucky.

Now I'm gonna try and nap for a bit ... could be a long couple of days/nights.
