10 years, 90 more to go

10 years ago today ....

We woke up in your parents house to a bower of beautiful white flowers that bloomed that morning just for us, and disappeared the next day.

Not long afterwards there began a flurry of activity that would last all day, but I don't think we noticed it much....

By mid-afternoon our friends had family had started gathering to share with us a celebration of a journey we had begun 4 years before....

And so I say to you today, the vows I said to you 10 years ago under the sun and trees (and cicadas!) at your parents home.

To live with you and laugh with you
To stand by your side and sleep in your arms
To challenge your mind and delight you with the unexpected
To bring out the best in you, and to always be the most I can
To let you be both strong and weak
To trust you with all that I am, and to be worthy of that trust from you
To be joyful with you, and share your sorrows
To help you when you're down, to wipe your tears with my hands
To comfort you with my body and mirror you with my soul
To play with you as often as possible
To always be amazed at what we have
To follow this path where ever it leads, whatever the outcome, no matter what
To grow old with you and love only you
With all my heart until the end of time
This is my solemn vow
