My hidden superpower

I have this magic superpower. I've had it since I was a girl and I could see through the window. My secret superpower is to find the most expensive piece of jewelry in an establishment -- not the biggest, not even the flashiest -- but definitely the priciest. My superpower did not fail me this weekend ... I had a fabulous day with my lovely wife ani_moore at the opening of the Maryland Rennaissance Faire. We stopped by Rob Piland's -- and my superpower did not fail me. I managed to find the most expensive piece he has -- not the biggest - but it is gorgeous. Tanzanite, unaltered, uncolored - 9+ carats. Here's a picture -- unfortunately that's all it will ever be for me. Unless I won the lottery, it's not even in the realm of the possible *sigh*




But, a girl can dream, eh?

A lovely belated birthday present

I just had the bestest.day.ever with my lovely oldest daughter A (who's also just started an LJ) - She treated me to DSW shoes (where I found some pretty red espadrilles and she found the most outrageous multi-colored shoes), then to lovely sushi lunch and then a trip off to the book store, Old Navy and finally Starbucks. After coffee, I let her practice driving home :) We laughed, we chatted, we had a really great day!

So, I decided to use Flickr to upload some pictures, only to find out if I upload them in their current size/format - I'm limited to 20mb per month. Upgrading to the paid account (for $25 for a year) will get me a 2gig limit. I thought the service was free -- now I'm just aggravated *grr*
