March Question/Answers
Mar. 11th, 2008 09:43 amAre there any questions you're *afraid* people might ask?
A couple of them. Questions regarding my past. Not because I'm ashamed of it, but I'm *past* the point where I have a lot of patience dealing with other peoples reactions to it. If you have the balls to ask a question, than one hopes you'd be open minded enough to not immediately judge or make assumptions about the answer.
The other one is why I haven't yet fully achieved my goals regarding becoming a midwfe.
How do you tend to keep in touch with friends?
Depends on the person. I prefer phone calls, but if they're busy I don't mind email or LJ. If they are close friends, I like to have some sort of regular 'in person' contact. Semi-regular dates/dinners (and in a couple of cases with my long distance canadian friends that may only be once or twice a year).
If we had one week to spend together, all scheduling and financial issues aside, what would we do together, where would we go, and what new experiences would you want us to share together? I want da' details.*wink*
I would want to travel overseas. Preferably someplace with a lot of shared interest like Scotland, Ireland or England. We'd hit some fabulous museums, battlegrounds and sites. Take in the pubs and music every night. Maybe catch a fabulous production of Shakespeare in a real theatre. Sleep in well appointed Bed & Breakfast for most of it, maybe have a night of camping on the Moors. Take lots and lots of pictures and write interesting travel journals. We'd share lazy mornings and before we'd left we'd indulge a little of my love for shopping.
What has been your greatest accomplishment in life?
Being a great parent to my kids. I/We do all that we can to give them a good life, but not hand them everything they want. We're trying to set a good foundation to make them happy, healthy and smart. They love reading, they enjoy being outside, they love being with family (both blood and chosen). We expose them to lots of different ideas and situations and they're not afraid to try new things.
What are you the most proud of?
A few things. Giving birth to my children in a way the empowered me. Teaching and supporting others and empowering them. And being there when I was (and am) needed.
What do you consider your greatest flaw?
Oh, that's a list as long as my arm. But if I had to pick one? That I don't use my time as well as I should to do accomplish all that needs done. I'm fond of procrastinating if I can get away with it.
