1) What is one of your favorite things to do alone at Pennsic?
Wander the market place and linger. Take pictures and people watch in a shady corner. Read. Walk the pathways and feel like I could never be lost or lonely here.

2) What is one of your favorite things to do with a group at Pennsic?
Oh lordy ... there's too many to name. Hang out in camp because I live and love some of the finest people in the world. Bellydance until my legs ache and my feet couldn't possibly take anymore. Drink at the Chalkman and listen to incredible music. Playing cards (Euchre) with the guys. Coffee at Your Inner Vagabond.

3)What is one of your best Pennsic memories?
After 16 years I've got a backpack full and room for more! Let's see if I can name a few ... dancing with Cait, late night walks in the dark (corners) with my husband, our party (every year), dancing with my Widgeon, an evening over the fire at the Pub, a certain night at the pub with Belthazar (and a certain armor tent), sharing Ani & Russ' first Pennsic with us and the perfect weather and a great 2 weeks, hair washing, car rides with Alex, a late night conversation with Rhy & Steve, watching Shawn & Courtney do fire together, Mika dancing last year, MacGregor and upside shots on the bar .... Like Alex said ... "come sit down ... I've got a few stories to tell you".

4)What is one of your weirdest Pennsic memories?
A boy (maybe 19) with a sock puppet who tried to use that sock puppet to pick up Tonia and me.

5)What was your first Pennsic?
Pennsic 21 babee!

6)How many/which Pennsic's have you attended?
Every year except for 26 and the one in 2001 when my daughter S was born.

7)What keeps you going back to Pennsic?
Love. Love my peeps, love my crazy strange hobby, love the feeling.

8)Are you going to Pennsic this year?
Hell yes, in 6 days and I can't wait!

9)What group/block do you usually camp in?
Lusty Wench Tavern on E-17 by the highway. See you after lunch.

The joy of a shared history ...

Subtitled: Sometimes nostalgia is a good thing

Yesterday my daughter T was keeping me company in studio/sewing room .... and she wanted me to teach her to do counted cross-stitch. After finally finishing what I was doing, I spent the better part of 1/2 hour tearing about my studio (note to self ... time to reorganize) I wandered into a long forgotton box in my sewing desk. At the bottom of the mish-mash box of stuff were a set of envelopes that seemed vaguely familiar ..

They were a set of letters written to my by da' hubby lapsedagnostic in 1993 when we were dating and I had gone to Pennsic 22. Man, talk about a blast from the past ... but the best part?!???!!! One of the best parts was one of the letter contained a long lost playlist to a tape he made me that I loved. It disappeared many years ago, and it's always bothered me....

So, last night, after the kids were all in bed, I sat down with Quas and we read those letter one by one. And looked at some of the pictures (rowr!). And I dug up all the tapes he made me so long ago and we listened to them, figured out the songs and artists and I made playlists of them on my Itunes so I can have them with me on my Ipod. He would YouTube a bunch of them and we walked down memory lane together and laughed.

While I don't long for all those times .. and I wish for some of them to come back ... there is tremendous joy in having a shared history with someone you love. And despite having gone to bed late and woken up way too early this morning (6am) I am happy.
