So today's article on "Heading out on your Own" is How to Open and Manage a Checking Account. When I was in high school this was a required part of my math curriculum. We were expected to open an imaginary account with X amount of money. We were given checks and required purchases to make and we had to keep track of what we bought, what we spent and show the ability to manage that on paper. I don't think schools do this anymore - and with the various ways you can now manage money, I suspect it's not as vital a skill. However, knowing what you spent and where your money goes and how much you have left is important. Later on in the series it deals with Budgeting - something I sorely need to work on myself.

I just realized I don't see much in the way of commenting on my journal. But I do use it as a potential "bounce ideas" board.

Is anyone still reading, or is everyone somewhere else like FB or Google?
