Who are you online?
Oct. 1st, 2012 02:36 pmI find today's article to be interesting and relatively pertinent. When I first got on the internet in the early 90's, my business partner mentioned two things to me. Never write anything you wouldn't want your parents to read (at least in a public forum), and *everything* on the 'net is still there somewhere, even years later. I took those to heart and am glad I did. The internet was different back then, no FB, no easy social media, no places to show your photos easily. Of course, now that's changed drastically.
I've found it very hard to impress on my own kids the value of not publishing your whole life on internet. Oh, they know the basics of not giving out personal information, not taking strange friend requests etc.... but they do put the most interesting things out there. And I worry - worry that in a few years when you really need that new job, or really want to get into a particular school that something they wrote or posted is going to come back to haunt them....
So, here is ( Manage Your Online Reputation )
