A round of B & H (boring and healthy)

I'm liberally borrowing my girlfriend's
mellyflori terms for exercise and healthy eating
Well, it's not like I didn't know this, but I'm great at self-sabotage. Last week I had my period and I just let myself go. I exercised once and it was at best, a half-hearted effort. My eating went out the window too for a good portion of it. I didn't quite gorge on the banquet of carbs, but I was more than willing to put a small handful of crackers in my mouth and think "eh, what is just a little bit going to hurt?" .... yeah, ~right~ It's one thing if it's just once, but as
pyrategrrl said last night, if it's every day, it's a habit. And, it was every day last week.
So, this week it's back to not a little bit, not for awhile. And I got up at 5:45 this morning and dragged my sorry ass downstairs for a "Firm" DVD (total body sculpt) Now I'm sore, but I feel like I *accomplished* something, so it's all good with the little bit of sore. One thing that was glaringly clear this morning was how fast you lose the energy and drive when you let it go for a few days, so I anticipate this week being somewhat of a struggle exercise wise. I'm also not near as flexible as I'd like, so I'm going to work on that with some yoga and stretching.
Last night's dinner was a soy/ginger/garlic marinade chicked steamed with broccoli. Since I wasn't doing the rice, I threw in some leftover asparagus. It was a good recipe, easy to make and pretty flavorful. This morning I was going to have a scallion/salmon omelet, but when I opened the box with the lox, the lox was moldy - still in the package *bleh*! (I purchased it yesterday at the market, I'll be taking it back this morning on the way out to ballet with S). So, I had a scallion/cheese/avocado egg beaters omelet instead *yum*
Tonight will be burritos/tacos/taco salads.
