Reading the fine print
May. 4th, 2005 10:33 amFrom Rob Brezney's Freewill Astrology
LEO (July 23 - Aug 22)
According to legend, influential blues guitarist Robert Johnson
made a pact with the Devil in a crossroads. In exchange for his soul,
the Devil gave him tremendous musical skill, including an unparalleled
ability to affect his audiences emotionally. I predict that you will
soon be tempted to negotiate a comparable deal in a crossroads, Leo.
Please keep in mind that there will be some extremely fine print in the
proposed contract. Besides that, I want you to know that while the
progress you'd make with the Devil's help may initially be faster, in
the long run it wouldn't be anywhere near as great as what you can
accomplish without it.

Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul
May. 4th, 2005 01:04 pmstealing the title from Douglas Adams, this next bit actually came from a different book The Hedonism Handbook - Mastering the Lost Arts of Leisure and Pleasure
"Human nature is both complicated and multidimensional, and to live in denial of the darkside is not only pointless and unnecessarily restrictive, it can also lead to personal ruin. As an evolving growth process, life must be fully embraced in order for it to have any meaning whatsoever.
There can be no light without darkness, and neither realm has exclusive dibs on that which is good or bad. After all, violence, agression and hostility are perfectly happy to rear their ugly heads in broad daylight. There is great beauty to be found in the dimly lit recesses of the soul, and at it's best, darkness can be romantic, inspiring, exhilarating, fascinating and eye-opening. To deny it's allure is to reject half of the life experience. To fearlessly enjoy the full spectrum of human nature is not only wise, it is logical, and any goody-two-shoes who claims to be of superior virtue and immune to temptation, should be met with instantaneous suspicion. It is entirely unnatural to be "good" all the time, especially since 'goodness' is a prescribed recipe of someone else's design. The truth is, that a little bit of bad, is a very good thing. "
