Power - update

Shortly after I posted last, Dominon VA Power showed up unannounced at my door to ask if I was having problems with the power -- they are outside now working some voodoo magic and hopefully all will be restored soon. Power will be going on and off while they work, so I'm posting fast.

Wish them luck -- I need my caffeine!

I wondered if it was an problem upstream from your supply.

I'd unplug and sensitive electronics until they get it straightened out. Gadgets don't like voltage changes.

If you have a gas range you need a better coffee maker... and by that I mean not just a better way to make coffee but... coffee without power!

French press my friend is a very very nice way to do coffee. Boil water, coffee in "pot", add water, add plunger and seal, wait odd number of minutes, swirl, depress plunger, and pour. Voila! Coffee without electricity!

I'm betting since she can't make tea without power working that its an all electric kitchen (similar to what I have).

French press coffee is delish - its what I use when the power is out at my house and I'm forced to boil/heat water on top of my wood stove.

Hopefully by now Dominion Power has figured out how to get Mym her power enough so she can have tea that lack of caffiene thing is killer.

That's why you still have your electric tea-kettle from college tucked back in the back corner of that really inconvenient high cupboard. You can make your tea in room that still has service.
