With all due respect to the late Mr. James Brown -- that's the song in my head at the moment.
So, I just got off the treadmill and I don't have a clever cut name for it, like my lovely wife
ani_moore of the "gym shorts" or my lovely
mellyflori with the "B & H" (boring and healthy) ... so help me with a clever name, k?! Until then -- I give you
Okay, one thing I have discovered is that watching TV while walking/running on the treadmill does not encourage me to work harder -- so this morning I put on the Ipod. Here is the playlist and the stats from this mornings workout:
Playlist (with nods to
much_ado for her disco inspirations)
You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
Shake your Groove Thing - Peaches and Herb
Knock on Wood - Amii Stewart
Bad Girls - Donna Summers
We are Family - Sister Sledge
Celebration - Kool and the Gang
It's Raining Men - The Weather Girls (sang this one loud!)
Fresh - Kool & the Gang
The timing was about right for the pre-select program I choose... and I moved and sang the whole time (not that I wasn't breathy or sweating, but I tried) :)
Total time: 30 minutes
Highest Incline: 6
Fastest Speed: 4 mph
Total Carbs burned: 31
Calories burned: 227
Total Miles: 1.71
My food choices were for crap yesterday - I'm 3 days into this and sabotaguing myself - but I'm back on track this morning. Smoking is still less than 6 a day, and working towards cutting it out all together. When I'm stressed and my loves and I are sniping, it easily leads to poor choices, I'm gonna have to work on that one.
So, what are you all up to? Anyone got some work out/weight loss/strong body icons they want to give a girl?

Date: 2007-01-11 06:11 pm (UTC)But, I'm back on track today.
It's also great that you're working out more. I've finally gotten back to the gym. I got some money for the winter holiday and I'm going to get with a personal trainer at my gym for a few sessions to get me back on track there.
The weekday's when I can't hit the gym, I'm committing to going for a walk at lunch. I generally do about 1.6 miles in 30 minutes. Yep, I was out to day in 36 degree temperatures. Got warm after the first mile. That was good. Listened to Cher for my walk. She's got good tempo's for walking at a good clip.

"working it" "Mym Moves!"
I just bought a pair of sneakers, therby removing my last excuse for not going to the Gym. *twitch*
