Working out and changing strategies

I did something today I haven't done in over a year .... I went to the
gym. I belong to Golds Gym, have for years in fact. Spent more money on
the membership then I care to admit. Haven't used it anywhere near as
much as I should have. The treadmill, while having increased my cardio
capacity is not helping drop the weight as fast as I'd like. Of course,
to be quite honest, my eating habits have tanked in the last week or 2
as well. Enough of that.
Anyway,
I dug out an old program that a previous trainer had done up for me -
and completed it. I'm a little sore, but not as sore as I expected to
be, so on the next "Legs" day I'm going to increase my weight. I did sweat
though, and I had to push myself to finish the final reps on some of
them. So I feel pretty good about it. I think I'll do it again
tomorrow.
While I was there I had a couple of questions about
machines and getting my BMI redone. I talked to a lovely man named Neil
who was very patient and gave me a few minutes of his time. He also
said he could do my BMI on the spot. The news was not surprising ...and
a little depressing. My current BMI is 32.7, which easily puts me in
the obese category. I realize that it's just a number, but it's a
number that I would like to see drop *sigh*

If you go to the one out near Manassas I could probably meet you there - or, I can get you a guest pass to come meet me at Life Time.

Date: 2007-04-17 05:22 pm (UTC)Also, just for sharing, my starting BMI according to the calculators was 54.4% now I'm down to 37.6%.
I don't check it every day, but when I hit the milestones, I like to see the percentage drop.
