Updatey-ness of sorts

So there's the first part which is mostly ...
So, we're now on week 3 of Slim in Six. I exercised every day last week, 'cept for Wednesday. Tuesday morning I had something to drink that my body is apparently allergic to, and I came home and spent an hour praying to the porcelain idol. So Wed I was feeling pretty unhappy, and my abs had enough of a work out the night before. I didn't keep up with my posting last week - my bad - but it didn't mean I wasn't working.
This week is the 3rd week, and I'm having to dig down to get through the workouts. The workout themselves are actually getting a little easier as I build the strength, but my mental attitude isn't catching up the way my body is. I spent the walk back from school this morning trying to think of reasons I couldn't exercise. I didn't actually come up with any, and for as much as I dawdled over the computer this morning, I did actually go downstairs and do the workout again. Apparently I'm starting to channel some of my wife's
ani_moore drill sergeant. The other thing I debated as I sweated through the workout this morning was whether to skip the entire segment on the legs that I detest so much - but the fact is that while I still can't make it through the whole segment without taking a break, I am getting through more of it. So, I did it. Also I am doing more push-ups with better form. Go me!
My eating has been mostly on track. I still fight the sugar monkey quite a bit, so I've been keeping sugar free jello, pudding and sugar free wafer cookies on hand for when the craving strikes. I'm trying to focus on the lean protein, getting my carb fixes earlier in the day, and still not eating after 7pm. I broke that twice last week. Once at the Mountaineers game with a hot dog (took off half the bun) and one night when my hubby
lapsedagnostic made popcorn with real butter. He portioned out a bowl for just me, which I did *not* finish, and I savored every damn bite.
I'm leaving Friday for California to go on a cruise with my sister as a late 40th birthday present for me. The cruise leaves Saturday, and it's a 5 day. I'm am going to take my running shoes and 1 set of comfortable work out pants, so that I can walk or run around the ship. I'll find out if the have a weight room and try and get in a little lifting too - if only for 20 minutes or so a day. *But* I totally plan on having a few margaritas while I'm gone, hopefully served to me by a lovely cabana boy named Juan ... or Ryan ... or Chaz .... *grin* I have started to put together what I'm taking for the cruise - I found a fantastic swirly dress while out on date night with MLW
ani_moore last week, as well as a lacy, deep "v" front top to go dancing in. For the Captain's dinner I'm taking the gold dress I wore for Ani & Russ' vow renewal in Vegas, along with the fabulous sparkly shoes of doom. I'm just finally staring to get excited about it all. Internet access is tres expensive on board, so I probably won't be posting updates until I'm back in CA. Cell coverage will probably be sketchy too -- it will be strange to actually be almost completely out of contact for 5 days. Just look for the long haired chick in the deck chair with her book and maybe her Ipod .... Oh Yeah.
Today I have to catch up on some chores ... (bleh, anyone else want to pay the bills?!) and visit a client.
What's new with you?
