Yesterday I felt okay and today I'm feeling better. The mysterious pain in my belly seems to have disappated. I'm still running on "omg ...tired", but since that is a fairly regular state of affairs in my life, I don't regard it as out of the ordinary.

We went an picked up our tree yesterday. It's a little on the short side for us, but hey, short trees need love too. Today we'll rearrange our entire main floor living space to put it in the house - but it's Christmas! The smell of real trees in the house. Pretty lights, garlands, christmas cards ... cookies! Now, I just need to get my shopping done.

Last night [livejournal.com profile] lapsedagnostic and I took the girls to the Kennedy Center to see a musical production of The Phantom Tollbooth. The Phantom Tollbooth is probably my top pick for junior fiction ever. I loved this book in 6th grade. I love it now. This musical adaptation was actually co-produced by the author, Norton Juster, so it gave it some real credibility in my book. The entire production was 1 hour, 10 minutes. It was fast paced but not frenetic or frantic. The girls all really enjoyed it, and are now looking forward to me reading the book to them. They had to leave out quite a bit - but the cast of 7 played a lot of the familiar parts and it was fun. If you're local to the DC area, I *highly* recommend catching this before it leaves the theatre.

Alright, lunch time now. What are you all up to today?

snirglefrizlemitxleplx!!!!! Drat! I wish I had know about the show! I, too, loved and still love the Phantom Tollbooth. And I went and checked... the rest of the shows are all sold out. Phooooo! I can only hope that it will be back sometime in the future. However, I am glad that you and your family had such a good time!

And I'm glad that you are feeling better.

Today is to finish watching the SciFi channel's mini-series "Tin Man." So far it has been a wonderful retelling of "The Wizard of Oz." Then to pack for both Doc and me. Him to go back for the last week of his training and me to head down to spend the night with Randy.
