On our way

We are on the road now. Travelling down 95 at what seems like light speed. I know Widgeon is anxious to get there & start fresh. But I know she paused a couple of times this morning to collect herself.
I paused this morning too. Paused at the door of her room & looked at my sleeping girl for just a moment. I tousled her hair and whispered "wake up pretty girl..." like I've done so many times before. We shared tea one more time amidst all the bustle of packing this morning. Q and I have looked at each other a few times and not said anything....there's no need, we know what the other is thinking and feeling.
I know she going to do great. But oh... We are going to miss her so very much.

Date: 2009-08-27 03:15 pm (UTC)I cried when I left Theresa, circled the block and drove past her walking with a grouop of other freshmen and headed off.
It's a huge day for everyone.
But I will tell you this, your daughter -- as were mine -- is capable, competent and smart. She has her eyes open, and she will do great. She's driving the clue bus.
