Knitting help

I have need of some knitting expertise and I need someone who could actually sit down and show me, not just try and explain it over e-mail. I'll be at BR happy hour/presentation tonight. Is there anyone who might sit and give me some time if you're going to be there tonight?
BTW, I picked my knitting back up because I've stopped smoking - we're on day 2.

Date: 2005-10-04 03:45 pm (UTC)You've given me an idea -- because, surely, if I could learn how to knit, that would be something to divert me from recreational eating from time to time or just to better handle the sheer nervousness that's been overtaking me lately.
(Knitting probably works better for this purpose than, say, beading, although I'd like to learn that, too.)

Date: 2005-10-04 04:36 pm (UTC)I finished my first project not long ago, and was pretty damn proud.
I'm now reworking a scarf... its a pain in the ass, and will teach me to get it right the first time!
*hugs* I'll have to be sure and toss my knitting into my bag the next time we get down to the club...

Date: 2005-10-04 04:46 pm (UTC)Not sure we've mentioned this, but we have a Monday night craft group . . .*every* monday night . . . .lots of people who know how to do lots of things! Not to mention some great company and good massages to be had! Call it "replacement therapy" :)
I'm big into crochet so wouldn't be very good help for the knitting thing. There is also a small little anti-fidgeter that i've used in the past that makes "rope". Depending on the yarn/string i use, i can actually have that in my purse to work on when i can't sit still. It's easy and eventually is one of those things you barely need to keep much of an eye on so you can still be talking to people or whatever while doing it.
Hugs to you!
