Eight years ago today Q and I were about to have our daughter T - it was an amazing experience, and it changed both of our lives forever. T is growing up to be a pretty amazing kid ...
and I feel incredibley lucky and blessed she's my kid. If the rain holds off we'll be doing "Haunted Mini Golf" for her birthday (the balls and cups glow in the dark) - and then cake and so
forth - if we're rained out - it's off to the Cheese -- as in Chuck E. Pray it won't rain anymore tonight :)

And our 5 year old daughter M lost her 1st tooth last night! It's almost worse than getting them off to school - Q looked at the tooth in my hand last night, so small you could barely see it
and says to me "It looked much bigger in her mouth" - when they start losing their teeth, it's just one more way you really can't deny they're growing up.

I absolutely refuse to go to chuck e cheese's. I've been once. 10 minutes in there gave me a migraine and had me ready to throttle 80% of the patrons.

here's hoping the rain quits.

Happy birthday to T!

I've never been to the Cheese. Is it terrible? My little side thinks it looks fun.

Happy birthday to the little one:)

horribly greasy and over priced food, combined with obnoxiously loud music, heinously loud games, and hundreds of screaming children.

*shudders* it's a migraine factory

Putting books or heavy weights on top of them don't seem to help either . .they keep growing. Ben (16) is 6' tall now. Emily (13) wears bigger shoes than i do - and she'll quickly surpass me in height. Then i get to be the shortest in the family.

On a side-note to this - when we saw you at the club last time, we had an absolutely wonderful confab with two other couples speaking of parental woes and relating humorous stories. It was so incredibly cathartic and helpful to know that we're not alone out there and that really we aren't doing such a terrible job raising our kids. (At least that's what i think sometimes - that as a single parent - i'm totally messing my kids up). But hearing what other parents are going through, my two seem pretty darn normal!

Anyway, if it would compel you to come visit - i do have a 13 year old daughter who is an outstanding babysitter (she is the one that everyone calls in our neighborhood), so we'd love to have y'all over sometime!

Those girls are amazing young ladies. I completely blame their parents. :)

Congrats honey!!
I vote for Haunted Puttputt... I always LOVED to play, and we only really played at the beach where they had kickass courses, the kind with HUGE hills and lots of animal sculptures and everything.

I knocked my first tooth loose on a corn dog stick that I bit down on the wrong way. otherwise my mouth is pretty messed up.

I have to warn you, they keep doing that! Mine are now older than several of my scene friends, which is really scary!

And my A.

Scary stuff this growing up business.

I understand that she and your A. have already starting making plans once mine has her license and a car.

Yow!

Hope the birthday festivities went well.
So, we on for Tuesday? If so, I can send directions, it's less than an hour from you. I'm sending email to your comcast email too, but I'm not sure you're getting them.
