With Thanksgiving ....
Nov. 25th, 2010 09:29 amIt's Thanksgiving morning here. The quiet before all the cooking and bustling. We're watching the original version of Fantasia. My niece stayed the night and is curled up with the girls who are giggling. I am happy.
The last 3 days, I've been at a birth every day. My sweet husband![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
lapsedagnostic stepped up and made sure to buy all the fixings for Thanksgiving. He also got the turkey in the brine yesterday. Fortunately yesterday's birth came early in the morning and I was still able to come home and make my famous apple-kiwi pie by 1.
This year I have so much to be grateful for ....

My partner B
My SCA clan/household which increased in numbers and love this year
Our home (yay, refinance!)
Jobs that we both love
Finishing my first triathlon!
Being asked to help join together relationships
And of course .... *you* .... my friends. I'm grateful for being in my/our lives and allowing us to connect with yours. I hope this Thanksgiving finds you with food in your belly, a warm place to be and a smile to share it with.

Sneaky Christmas ....
Dec. 9th, 2009 01:20 pmI had somewhat stunning realization at the beginning of this week, that the holiday season has snuck up on me/us. Two weeks from yesterday, we'll be headed south to the beach for our annual family Christmas. I'm really looking forward to it, but last year, we hadn't quite finished all our holiday shopping and so we braved the crowds in unfamiliar shopping malls to get it all done, and it was just ....eh ...stressful. So, I'd like not to have a repeat of that this year.
So, this afternoon, I just did about half my shopping on Amazon. Should be delivered her around middle of next week. Hmmmm, I should do this more often. And sooner.
